Abstract
This digital product is a digital version of Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources (NSNR&R) Open File Map ME 2018-002, compiled by D.M. Brushett in 2018. The data and derived map depict the distribution and characteristics of Quaternary glacial and other surficial deposits in the eastern Cobequid Highlands of northern mainland Nova Scotia. The digital product was created by the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources, Geoscience and Mines Branch (GMB) staff. The digital product contains layers for geological features such as drumlins, eskers, geological contacts, surficial geology units, ice flow, ice movement, station locations, and roche moutonnee.
Understanding the glacial history in this area, including past ice-flow trajectories, their associated landforms, bedrock erosion, glacial sediment transport and deposition, is vital for successful drift prospecting in the region. |
