The NSMIP program provides funding to individuals and organizations to support professional development for prospectors, geologists and engineers. Examples of initiatives that will be considered for funding includes:

• Training on the use of exploration equipment (e.g. XRF unit)
• Development of training courses (e.g. Online course for prospectors)
• GIS training
• Training for how to undertake community engagement for mineral exploration
• Seminars by experts on deposit models
